Banggai Immigration Office Reminds Visitor Stay Permit Applicants to Submit Extensions 14 Days Before Visa Expiry

Banggai, November 14, 2024 – The Banggai Immigration Office urges all foreign nationals currently within the jurisdiction of Banggai Regency to take note of the timeline for submitting Visitor Stay Permit extensions. As per current regulations, applications for Visitor Stay Permit extensions should be submitted no earlier than 14 days before the visa expiration date. This policy aims to ensure adequate processing time without any disruptions to the applicant's immigration status.

Octaveri, Head of Banggai Immigration Office, emphasized that following the correct procedure when applying for Visitor Stay Permit extensions is essential to avoid overstaying.

"Extension applications for Visit Stay Permits should be submitted 14 days prior to the visa or permit expiration date. We strongly encourage applicants to adhere to this timeline to prevent delays that could lead to irregular immigration status. Our office is also available to provide the necessary information for applicants wishing to extend their stay," stated Octaveri.

Additionally, Hermansyah Siregar, Head of Central Sulawesi Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, highlighted the importance of compliance with the regulations set by the Directorate General of Immigration. Hermansyah stressed that immigration authorities are not only responsible for providing services to foreign nationals but also for ensuring that all stay permit extensions are conducted in an orderly manner in accordance with the law.

"Submitting Visitor Stay Permit extensions on time and according to procedures facilitates a smooth administrative process. We hope that foreign nationals in Central Sulawesi, especially in Banggai Regency, adhere to these provisions to ensure a seamless process for extending their stay permits," remarked Hermansyah.

Applicants who attempt to apply for a Visit Stay Permit extension more than 14 days before the visa expires may encounter technical issues. The system may display an error or fail to show the option for batch applications. Therefore, it is essential for applicants to submit their extension application within the appropriate timeframe, which is no earlier than 14 days before the visa expiration date.

The Banggai Immigration Office also reminds applicants that extension applications must be accompanied by the necessary documents, such as a valid passport, completed application form, and proof of the purpose of the visit. Applicants can visit the Banggai Immigration Office or access information through official immigration channels to ensure a smooth process for extending their residence permits.
